David Lewis is the Director of the Knowledge and Data Engineering Group (KDEG) at the School of Computer Science and Statistics, Trinity College Dublin. He has over 24 years R&D experience in academia and industry. He has over 120 peer-reviewed publications and secured €3.2 million of competitive research funding in the areas of integrated service management and service interoperability. Since 2008 he has been responsible for coordinating the interoperability of language technology, digital content management and localisation systems for Centre for Next Generation Localisation. He co-chaired of the Multilingual Web – Language Technology (MLW-LT) working group at the W3C, which was developed the Internationalization Tag Set 2.0 Recommendation. He currently chairs. He is co-chair of the FEISGILTT workshops on interoperability and standards harmonisation in the language services industry. He leads the EU-funded FALCON project which is integrating linked data technology into localisation tool chains and is co-chair of the Linked Data for Language Technology (LD4LT) W3C Community Group which is establishing industry use cases and requirements for linguistic linked data.
